First Month of an Entrepreneur

12 Apr

(Jakarta, 2016) I know, I know. To repost an article is shameful. But hey! here it is the link you can find the original artcile 😀

first month as entrepreneur.png

In the first month of starting a business, the most important task is to validate your customer problems and find a paying customer.

For the wantrepreneur, however, the first task is usually something more fun like, logo design. What’s in a logo? Some entrepreneurs have carefully selected their logos, and some have just used simple clip art. Others carefully craft their brand strategy before the logo, and some just choose their favorite colors. And yet others claim their logo is the reason for their business success.

As a new entrepreneur, it is best to find a very simple logo design, as it may change as your product evolves. Some of our favorite logo tips can be found here. 99designs and fiverr are fast and inexpensive ways to get a logo created so you can focus on the most important parts of the business.

Point of No Return

15 Mar

(Duri, 2016) Remembering the ‘No Return Point’ Story in 711 AD of The great muslim commander, Tariq ibn Ziyad, when he ordered his ships to be burned  of which he awakened the courage of his forces in the effort of the Iberian Peninsula liberation.

Today, as such, is the ‘No Return Point’ of my life. This is the point beyond which I must continue on my current course of action because turning back is physically exhaustive and prohibitively useless. Today I officially am approved to participate in the Work Force Management scheme by my Company. I shall become both a thinker and a doer in the same time. Well now I am really excited! and daunted in the same time to be honest.

So, here we come the new challenge for me… Bismillahirrahmanirrahim!

Bad Reasons To Become An Entrepreneur

8 Mar

(Duri, 2016) First of all, this is a repost article. yeah I feel bad about it, but easy guys & girls…here it is the link of the original article 😀

If You’re Thinking Of Becoming An Entrepreneur For Any Of These Reasons – Don’t!

Entrepreneurship is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding things you can ever do. However, it’s also possibly one of the most difficult and most stressful things you can ever do.

If you choose to become an entrepreneur, you have to be ready for the long haul. As someone once said, “Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won’t, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t”.

With that being said, there is a reason people won’t choose the ridiculously difficult life of an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is not a job; it’s a lifestyle. It’s a lifestyle that takes many hard, enduring years to create. If you become an entrepreneur for the wrong reason, you probably won’t have the passion and dedication it takes to survive those first few years.

Here are some BAD reasons to go into business for yourself. Understand it’s all right to be a little bit motivated by the below reasons, but they should never be the foundation of why you choose to go into business.

You Want To Get Rich

Contrary to what you may believe, the majority of successful millionaire or billionaire entrepreneurs didn’t start their business to get rich. They started their business because they were passionate about solving a problem. Sure, they knew they’d become wealthy if they solved the problem successfully but wealth wasn’t the basis of why they began trying to solve those problems. Wealth is a by-product of a good business, not the end goal.

It’s also important to note that many entrepreneurs struggle in the first few years. Many entrepreneurs choose not to pay themselves the first year or can’t take a salary until after raising seed funding. It takes years to accumulate wealth as an entrepreneur and many times you won’t become super wealthy until there is a liquidity event, which usually means the company is getting acquired or going public.

You Want To Be Your Own Boss

I often hear people tell me that they want to become an entrepreneur because they want to become “their own boss.” If someone says “I want to be my own boss” and they just mean that they want to control their own destiny, then that’s completely understandable. However, if what they mean is, “I want to be my own boss and never have to report to or listen to anybody else again,” then they are in for a very rude awakening.

The moment you take on co-founders, they are there to hold you accountable — and vice versa. The moment you get your first customer, your customer now always has the last word. The moment you take on an investor, you’re responsible for doing your best to create a return for them. If you’re running your business like you should be, you will always have to report to someone on some level.

You Want To Be A Famous CEO

Having the title of CEO or entrepreneur comes with great responsibility, and it should never be taken lightly or for granted. Although CEO is a badge I wear proudly, I understand the title itself was created for internal purposes, not external ones (except for customers & investors). You should never start a business because you think it would be cool to have a title, or because you plan on becoming famous.

Entrepreneurs who try to build their business as a way to become famous or noticed usually make bad business decisions because they put themselves before the organization. Lastly, you don’t need to become a “successful” entrepreneur before you become a famous one. The truth of the matter is that the majority of new businesses don’t succeed. You may want to consider another avenue if you’re solely looking to become famous.#entrepreneurfail Role of an entrepreneur in a Business Card

You Want To Work Less

So you hate your current job. You’re always working overtime and are putting in 60-hour work weeks, and you feel like you never have time to spend with your family or loved ones. You start thinking, “Man, I think I should be going into business for myself, so I don’t have to work so damn hard.” Wrong.

The truth is, no matter how hard you’re working at your current job, you’re going to have to work even harder to start a business. In the beginning stages, when it’s just you and a couple of co-founders, you will be ridiculously busy wearing many hats and building a company from scratch. As you start hiring employees, you will still be ridiculously busy managing them and creating a company culture. It won’t be until a couple of years in, when you can hire executives and managers, that you will have any breathing room.

You Want To Prove The “Haters” Wrong

For many of us — and especially hyper-competitive entrepreneurs — when we hear someone tell us we can’t do something, we want to prove them wrong. Many successful entrepreneurs have had a chip on their shoulder from people telling them that their dreams weren’t possible. It’s all right from time to time to use your desire to “prove the haters wrong” for a little extra motivation. However you should never start a business solely on the foundation of proving people wrong.

It’s important to understand that using the drive to prove “people wrong” too much creates negative energy. You are more likely to make irrational decisions that can hurt the company. Rather than always trying to prove people wrong, try to validate those that have believed in you. You will be much more motivated when you’re grinding for your loved ones.

This is My Milestone!

26 Feb

(Duri, 2016)

Assalamualaikum. It has been yeaaars since I opened this blog. Six words… WOW! WOW! WOW! YA! YA! YA!

It is like I walk through time tunnel. I still can see very clearly myself in those years, when I wrote on this blog. My time in Malaysia was sso amazing. It taught me lots of things 🙂

Well here I am now, in a remote place called Duri in Indonesia. I have been working for Big Oil companies for 3 years until today. I just wanna record this exact date: 26 FEB 2016 or simply amazingly beautifully crafted as 26216 (such a nomer cantik kan? ) as a special date for me. WHY YOU ASK? 😀

Here is the answer. Today I have made one of the biggest decision in my life. And I am feeling so calm right now. Inshaa Allah today will be remembered as the day I finally chose to do what I want to do… which is to Go for an Entrepreneurship Life! 🙂

#entrepreneurfail Early Signs of Entrepreneurship

A super fine quote I just re-heard yesterday goes like this:

“Do what you love, and love what you do”.

and I totally agree with that.

To be honest I am a lil bit scared right now. It is gonna be a totally different world from today. And I know, it is worth a try. Moreover I am still waiting LPDP announcement which will be on 10 March 2016. So the possibilities are either I study MBA overseas in the UK or I finally could directly jump into the jungle of Entrepreneurship/Business Life.

I know this writing is so unorganized and screwed all over the place. But one point I want to make is, today is such a BIG MILESTONE for me. Inshaa Allah, lillahi ta’ala Allah will guide me throughout my life. Amin.

Thank you to all of my closest people in my life. You are such a great lifetime companions and inspiration for me.

With this, I want to conclude this writing with words of BISMILLAHIRRAHMANIRRAHIM

Empire State and Chrysler Buildings (NY)

24 Apr

(Damansara, 2011) Today when I was hanging out with my Indonesian UTP mates we looked at a shop displaying worlds landmark miniatures model. There are St. Basils church (Moscow), Tower bridge (London), De Burj Al-Arab (Dubai), etc. One caught my friends intention was a building which is so familiar to us, here is the picture…

Do you know what building is it? yes it is Chrysler Building.

Some people (including me and my friend at first) were confused between empire state building and the chrysler building thus now im writing this post to tell you the difference.

this is Chrysler…
it was the world’s tallest building for 11 months before it was surpassed by the Empire State Building in 1931. After the destruction of the World Trade Center, it was again the second-tallest building in New York City until December 2007, when the spire was raised on the 365.8-metre (1,200 ft) Bank of America Tower, pushing the Chrysler Building into third position. In addition, The New York Times Building which opened in 2007, is exactly level with the Chrysler Building in height. (wikipedia)

and this is Empire state…
It is 1,250 ft (381 meters) tall. Its name is derived from the nickname for New York, the Empire State. It stood as the world’s tallest building for more than 40 years, from its completion in 1931 until construction of the World Trade Center’s North Tower was completed in 1972. Following the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001, the Empire State Building once again became the tallest building in New York City. (wikipedia)

More over about the building:
Perhaps the most famous popular culture representation of the building is in the 1933 film King Kong, in which the title character, a giant ape, climbs to the top to escape his captors but falls to his death after being attacked by airplanes. (wikipedia))

more pictures 🙂 🙂

So, do you now know the difference?

anyway, sorry about the copy and paste in the content of my post this time, actually i am just trying to make you aware of this differences so that in the future you will not mis-determine which building which 😉 like I did -_-

See you in the next post 🙂

Jose Mourinho Quotes

22 Apr

Taken from his first press conference in England as chelski manager on June, 2 2004.

“We have top players here and, I’m sorry if it seems a bit arrogant, but we have a top manager. Please don’t call me arrogant, but I’m European champion and I think I’m a special one”

Liverpool – Environment – Twin Towers @live

12 Apr

(Damansara, 2011) Too much I want to write on tonight’s post. Ermmm…halloo people, good evening 😉 I will write in this post about, as follow:
1. Liverpool
2. My work in environment business line
3. My last weekend

So here we go, I start with talking about the best football club in my heart (o yeah its football not soccer) LIVERPOOL. Earlier this morning 3am Malaysian time was the match against Man City. Carrol scored twice as he opened his goals account for Liverpool! Im so happy for him and the club. No matter whether we qualify for next season European competition or not, the future still seems bright! I dont care with MU, Chelsea if they happen to win a trophy, there is always next season for us. We will be in the place where we belong, The Kings of Europe! Who ruled the past, will rule the future. believe. Youll Never Walk Alone!

Secondly, what I want to share is my work in my new business line in the company. It has only been a week, and guess what…It appears that everyone is helping me in doing work! they are as nice as with the people in transportation. Im now involved in totally different project with the projects I used to be involved in transportation, and I feel fine 🙂 I like working with the colleagues they are so helpful to me, and make me learn so much about the activity they do. The only problem is, now the time at the office seem so fast! I dont know what happens but the 6pm comes faster than ever. I dont know what to comment regarding this…..

Last but not least, i want to inform you that my weekend was awesome! I met with my Indonesian UTP batch, we call ourselves “DeJavu”. So the dejavu was not in a full team, there were only some of us who have Internship in KL and surroundings. We talk, we eat, we laugh, we had a great moment visiting Dataran Merdeka.

Twin Tower @live.
Another thing made my weekend awesome is a fact that there was “Earth Wind and Fire” concert for FREE! yeah you dont misread it, its FREE. Man I envy with Malaysians, the country hosts annual F1 race and they provide this concert named Twin Tower @live with international performer for free. Obviously from the name that this concert was held at Twin Towers KLCC, KL. They even give the concert visitors free drink, and you know what the concert is reasonably not so crowded with audience! crazy. International performer, free drink, great concert, and for free. Well I could say, this might not possible to happen in Jakarta.

Later I will put the pictures here. Till later see ya 🙂
